About Erlewein & Haynes Tax Service
I have been a practicing tax professional since 1988 when I started running payrolls, creating corporate spreadsheets and preparing tax returns all by hand. In 1991 I completed my Masters of Business Administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. My Bachelor of Science degree is from Purdue University (’84).
My tax experience quickly expanded into transitioning our office into preparing tax returns electronically for personal, corporate and multistate returns as well as computerized payroll systems.
In 2005 I started with Liberty Tax Service where I became the store manager and trainer. My responsibilities included not only tax preparation of personal and business taxes, but also the review of every return filed electronically from that office. While at Liberty Tax Service I completed the Hispanic Services Certification for Hispanic Tax Preparation and ITINS. I also earned the Hispanic Services Seal of Excellence from Liberty Tax.
Erlewein & Haynes, Inc has been in business since 2007 for my personal and business clients while I continued to expand my work with Liberty Tax Service and then TaxBack of Speedway and later as an online adviser with Intuit TurboTax.
In 2010 I was hired by a CPA firm to work in, and then run, their local tax preparation office in Speedway Indiana. I also completed the Enrolled Agent testing to earn the EA designation from the IRS in 2010. Since then I have continued to complete no fewer than 30 CPE credits in taxation per year with an average of 95 a year the past three years (only 24 a year are required).
In 2015 I began working with Intuit as an online Turbotax Adviser. I dealt with over 3,000 customers from over 28 countries as well as over 45 states. I worked with TurboTax, TurboTax online and TurboTax Business as one of their few advisors to work across all platforms (desktop, online and mobile) all systems (MAC and PC), as well as personal and business returns.
Since 2016 I have exclusively worked for Erlewein & Haynes, Inc. and continue to grow this business. To this end I continue to complete annual training in all forms of taxation from personal taxation to Estates and Trust and to Ex-Patriot returns as well as implementing state of the art tax software and utilizing Microsoft Office Products.
